Pakistan, Feb. 21 -- Sindh Minister for Human Rights Nadia Gabol has stressed the need to create mass awareness about the social justice.
Addressing a seminar here on Sunday at a private institute on the occasion to mark World Day of Social Justice, she urged to actuate the equitable distribution of income and greater access through resources and recognise that economic growth should encourage a 'society for all' and build social justice and respect for human rights and fundamental freedom.
The Minister noted that the social justice generally refers to the idea of creating an egalitarian society or an institution based on the principles of equality and solidarity, which in-turn recognises the dignity of human being.
"Social justice is based on the value of fairness, equality, respect for diversity, access to social protection and the application of human rights in all spheres of life, including in the workplace", she underlined.
Nadia Cobol said that the stability and prosperity of a society depend on ensuring that people enjoy a standard level of well- being and equality of opportunities including gender equality and by removing barriers that people face because of age, race, ethnicity, religious, culture or disability.
She emphasized upon the importance of arranging at least singular activities for the day in schools, colleges and universities revolving around the subjects connected to poverty, social and economic omission or
unemployment.
"Diverse Media together with radio and televisions, newspapers and internet sites should also highlight the topics about the world Day of social Justice as an awareness campaign", she added
